I have many years experience of working therapeutically with Children, Young People and Adults within a variety of settings.
I have a genuine affection and interest in people and I am told by clients that I am able to offer a deeply authentic relational way of working. I believe it is this relationship that plays a big part in the healing process.
Whilst my core training is in Humanistic Counselling, I have a deep respect and understanding for other modalities, and have gained qualifications in several different areas. This helps me to provide clients with a better experience of counselling. I believe by drawing on different modalities I can tailor make an approach to suit your uniqueness as an individual.
My experience has taught me that whilst theory is important, counselling works by accepting and validating clients for who they are and trusting that they have within them the ability to change and grow.
As an accredited member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy), I adhere to its Ethical framework and code of conduct. I hold public liability and professional indemnity insurance. My work is regularly supervised by a senior accredited BACP supervisor in accordance with the BACP guidelines.
I am qualified in therapeutic play and a member of Play Therapy U.K (PTUK) I work in accordance with their framework for good practice. In regard to safeguarding I hold an enhanced CRB certificate. (now called DBS)
